For years, kayak anglers across the Hoosier state have been asking for a true Bass Nation series right here in Indiana — a path to compete locally and earn a shot at the B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak National Championship.
Thanks to the leadership of Merlin Hammer III, and the help of Ryan Reedy and Sam Jones, that vision is finally becoming a reality. With the support of Indiana B.A.S.S. Nation President Troy Gorham and the guidance of Steven Owens, the Indiana Bass Nation Kayak Series will officially launch in 2026.
The season will feature five total events — four regular-season tournaments and one championship event.
Details on the schedule, format, and entry fees will be announced soon.
“This has been something Indiana anglers have wanted for a long time,” said Merlin Hammer III, President of Indiana Kayak Bass Nation. “We’re excited to finally bring this opportunity to life and give Hoosier kayak anglers a path to the national stage through B.A.S.S. Nation.”
Stay tuned for more updates as the 2026 season approaches — the Indiana Bass Nation Kayak Series is coming, and history is about to be made.
